Melissa Villaseñor (comedian, writer, artist, and Whittier native) shared her journey as a comedian and author, opening up about how art and writing have helped her navigate life’s ups and downs, themes she beautifully explores in her book Whoops... I’m Awesome! The audience loved every moment, especially when Melissa treated us to a few bars of her song My Life Sounds Better in Spanish. It was heartfelt, funny, and so authentically her, which inspired over 300 people who joined us for the very first Eileen Bigelow Speaker Series Event.
